Simon is an experienced brand and communications practitioner, with a background covering agencies, consultancy, and entrepreneurship.
He has been an independent consultant on brand issues with a wide range of companies and charities and has advised brands including: Harris Tweed Authority, Aviva, Pret A Manger, Norfolk Broads National Park, World Vision, and many more.
Simon has also founded and grown two made-in-Britain clothing brands from the ground up: Blackshore Coastal Clothing;, and Shackleton.
He has delivered keynotes and workshops on branding all over the UK and around the world, and has returned to University of East Anglia many times as a Business Fellow, to deliver masterclasses on M.Sc and MBA programmes.
As an author Simon has had three books published commercially, most notably the brand book for small business 'Build A Brand In 30 Days' (Capstone) which has been an Amazon No.1 bestseller, and has been in print constantly since publication in 2010.
Simon was voted a World Top 30 Branding Professional by GlobalGurus.org in 2019, 2020 and again in 2021.
He has appeared often on national TV as an expert commentator on brand issues. I’ve been on CNN, Bloomberg, Sky News, 5 News, and across the BBC (inc. Today, Breakfast, BBC News, and a memorable interview with Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight).
